2. Services Provided

Axel provides a technology platform that connects riders with independent drivers. We do not provide transportation services ourselves.

  • Ride-hailing marketplace connecting riders and drivers
  • Payment processing and fare calculation
  • Real-time GPS tracking and navigation
  • Customer support and safety features

3. User Accounts

Account Creation

You must create an account to use Axel. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of unauthorized access
  • Be at least 18 years old

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in fraudulent activity.

4. Payments and Fees

Fare Calculation: Fares are calculated based on distance, time, and demand. You will see an upfront estimate before confirming.

Payment Methods: We accept credit/debit cards, mobile wallets, and cash. All card transactions are processed securely.

Cancellation Fees: Canceling after a driver is dispatched may incur a fee.

Surge Pricing: During high demand, surge pricing may apply. You will be notified before confirming your ride.

5. User Conduct

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the service for illegal purposes
  • Harass, threaten, or harm drivers or other users
  • Provide false information or impersonate others
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or tamper with the platform
  • Use the service if you are under 18 years old
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse promotions

6. Driver Responsibilities

Drivers using the Axel platform must:

  • Hold a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance
  • Pass background checks and vehicle inspections
  • Comply with all traffic laws and regulations
  • Maintain a clean and safe vehicle
  • Treat riders with respect and professionalism

7. Limitation of Liability

Axel is a technology platform connecting riders and independent drivers. We are not responsible for:

  • Actions or conduct of drivers or riders
  • Quality of service provided by drivers
  • Loss or damage to personal property
  • Delays or route changes due to traffic or weather
  • Unavailability of drivers in your area

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific ride in question.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, logos, and intellectual property on the Axel platform are owned by Axel or our licensors. You may not use, copy, or distribute our content without permission.

9. Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution: Contact our support team first to resolve disputes.

Arbitration: Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration under South African law.

Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes individually, not as part of a class action.

10. Privacy

Your use of Axel is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Johannesburg, South Africa.
